Realm of Eternity: Dragon's Pact
A sweeping fantasy epic that redefines the RPG genre.
Iron Vanguard: Reborn is the long-awaited sequel to the critically acclaimed 2021 original, and it arrives with a thunderous impact. Developed by Ironclad Studios and published by Nexus Interactive, this open-world tactical shooter sets a new benchmark for the genre with its meticulously crafted post-apocalyptic world, deep strategic combat, and a narrative that genuinely surprises.
We spent over 60 hours exploring every corner of its shattered Earth setting, completing the main campaign, tackling side missions, and diving into the competitive multiplayer modes. The result is a game that is, in almost every respect, a triumph.
The core loop of Iron Vanguard: Reborn is built around squad-based tactical combat. Players command a unit of four soldiers, each with distinct specialisations — assault, sniper, medic, and engineer. The AI companions are remarkably capable, responding intelligently to flanking manoeuvres and adapting to changing battlefield conditions without constant micromanagement.
The weapon customisation system is the deepest we have seen in the genre. With over 200 attachments and a ballistics model that accounts for wind, distance, and material penetration, every engagement demands thoughtful preparation. Yet the game never feels overwhelming, thanks to an excellent tutorial system and a progressive difficulty curve.
The open world is a masterclass in environmental storytelling. Ruined cities, flooded coastal towns, and arid outback wastelands — clearly inspired by Australian landscapes — provide a stunning and varied backdrop. The lighting engine is exceptional, with dynamic weather systems that dramatically alter both the visual atmosphere and gameplay conditions.
Running on a high-end PC at maximum settings, Iron Vanguard: Reborn is one of the most visually impressive games we have ever reviewed. Frame rates are stable and well-optimised across a range of hardware configurations.
The competitive multiplayer suite includes five distinct modes, from classic deathmatch to the new Siege Protocol, a 10v10 objective-based mode that demands exceptional teamwork. The ranked ladder is well-structured, and the matchmaking system is among the fastest and most accurate we have encountered in the genre.
For Australian players specifically, dedicated servers in Sydney and Melbourne ensure consistently low ping, making this one of the best online experiences available in the region.
Iron Vanguard: Reborn is a landmark achievement in tactical shooter design. It is ambitious, beautifully crafted, and endlessly replayable. Minor narrative pacing issues in the third act and a somewhat steep initial learning curve are the only blemishes on an otherwise exceptional package. This is essential playing for any serious gamer.
